In the story below, ALEX AND ANI Boston shares how Mary purchased the Ode to the Owl bangle to honor her recently departed mother and how she plans to make 2015 a year of celebrating her beloved family.

Mary came into our store looking for the Ode to the Owl bangle. She explained to us that she was on her way home to Ireland because her mother had passed away over the holiday season. She wanted to buy five Ode to the Owl bangles to bring home to her sisters. Owls were always her mother’s favorite symbol. Mary told us how she had Owls all over home and she never took off her gold owl necklace – she loved their message of power and intelligence.
While she was heartbroken, she was excited to start the new year with a positive mindset, knowing that her mother was always by her side. She hadn’t been home to Ireland for five years, and although it was an unhappy circumstance that was bringing her family together, she was very excited to see her sisters and reconnect after all the time they had spent apart. Mary told us how her mother’s death had made her “wake up” and realize how valuable her relationships with her family are. She told us her New Year’s resolution was to make a trip home to Ireland once a year. Her reflection and excitement was contagious and we couldn’t all help but feel excited to begin 2015 with the same positive mindset!
